Here is a fabulous winged seed. This Ptelea (Hop Tree) Seed is from the Eocene of Utah. The seed exhibits wonderful detail - the venation of the wings is clearly defined. The fossil has great color and contrast. It is nicely showcased on the natural plate of shale. This is a very rare, very detailed Winged Seed from the Green River Formation.
