Stock Number  FPUZE21
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Zelkova nervosa (Keaki Tree Leaf)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 1.9 inches long

This is a very nice fossil leaf. It is a fine Zelkova nervosa (Keaki Tree) leaf from the Green River Formation of Utah. This lance-shaped leaf is complete and exhibits wonderful detail. The slightly serrated margins of the leaf are beautifully displayed, and the venation is well preserved. The long petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The fossil leaf has great color and contrast and is very well centered on the natural plate of shale. This is a striking example of a Zelkova leaf from the Eocene.
