EXTINCTIONS CHOICE - Huge, Beautiful Alder Leaf
Stock Number  FPCAN303
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Alnus (Alder) Leaf
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Tranquille Shale
Location:  Cache Creek, British Columbia, Canada
Size:  Leaf is 6.2 inches long!

Here is a very beautiful fossil leaf. This Alnus (Alder) Leaf specimen is from the Eocene of British Columbia. This large ovate leaf has a somewhat cuneate base and broadly dentate margins. The pinnate venation is very strong and easily seen with the naked eye. The very tip of the leaf is unusually intact, and the small, stout petiole is still attached. The natural, brownish-black, carbonaceous fossil contrasts nicely with the tan matrix. The leaf is well showcased on the large, natural plate of shale that also contains a Metasequoia frond on the back side. This is a very collectible fossil leaf that displays wonderfully.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
