This is a very unusual pair of fossil leaves. It is a wonderful Carya antiquorum (Hickory) Leaf and a nice Zizyphoides flabellum leaf from a new find in the Paleocene of Montana. This Hickory leaf is extremely large. Both leaves have great detail preserved - the reticulation and venation are clearly seen. The fabulous color makes for a striking display. The beautiful leaves are well showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very uncommon leaf association from an unusual location in Montana.
