Size:  Frond is 3.6 inches long

This is a very rare fossil fern from an unusual location. It is a large fossil fern frond from Wyoming. The unusual feature of this fossil is that it was found in the Lance Creek Formation., However, ferns have never been described from the Lance Creek Formation! The fern has fine detail and great natural color preserved. The frond is aesthetically displayed on the large,natural plate of dense shale. This is a very nice specimen of an undescribed fern from the Cretaceous of Wyoming.
