Age:  Paleocene
Formation:  Fort Union Formation
Location:  Glendive, Montana
Size:  Leaf is 1.7 inches long

This is a very rare fossil leaf. It is a wonderful Juglans taurina (Walnut) Leaf from a new find in the Paleocene of Montana. This specimen has great detail preserved - the venation and natural shape are clearly seen. The fabulous color makes for a striking display. The beautiful leaf is well showcased on the large. squared plate of shale. This is a very fine fossil Walnut leaf from an unusual location in Montana.
