Here is an excellent fossil seed fern from the famous Mazon Creek area of Illinois. This plant is well preserved in a siderite concretion. Both halves of the concretion (part and counterpart) are present. This specimen exhibits excellent detail. The central "stem" is quite apparent and each individual leaflets are clearly defined. Even the venation of the individual leaflets is beautifully displayed. The natural color and contrast of the fossil is quite striking - no paint or coloring has been added to the specimen. This is a very aesthetic fossil seed fern from the classic Mazon Creek locality.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
