This is a very distinct pair of fossil leaves. These are Celtis aspera (Hackberry) leaves from a new find in the Paleocene of Montana. This specimen has a leaf on each side! The leaves have great lanceolate shape - the serrations and venation are also clearly seen. The natural color makes for a striking display. The beautiful leaves are well showcased on each side of the natural plate of shale. This is a very fine pair of fossil leaves from an unusual location in Montana.
