Location:  Glendive, Montana
Size:  Leaf is 4.4 inches long

This is a very large and colorful fossil leaf. It is a wonderful Carya antiquorum (Hickory) Leaf from a new find in the Paleocene of Montana. This specimen is quite large - almost four and a half inches long! The leaf has great detail preserved - the reticulation and venation are clearly seen. The fabulous color makes for a striking display. The beautiful leaf is well showcased on the large. semi-squared plate of shale. This is a very nice fossil Hickory leaf from an unusual location in Montana.
