This is a very unusual pair of fossil leaves. These are distinct Fraxinus eocenica (Ash) leaves from the Paleocene of Montana. The leaves have great shape - the reticulation and venation are clearly seen. The natural color makes for a striking display. The beautiful leaves are well showcased on the large, rectangular plate of shale. This is a very unusual pair of fossil leaves from an unusual location in Montana.
