Here is a very unique plant fossil. This is an exquisite specimen of Nyssidium arcticum Fruiting Bodies from the Paleocene of Montana. There are many oblong fruits present on this plate - all beautifully attached to the main branch by short stalks. It is very unusual to find a specimen with so many fruits still attached. Under magnification, one can easily see the incredible detail. The colorful fossils contrast nicely with the lighter-colored matrix. The branch of fruits is well displayed on the plate of shale. This is a wonderful example of these rare Nyssidium arcticum fruits.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
