Stock Number  S1029072
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Leguminosites regularis Leaf
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 3.4 inches long

Here is an unusual fossil leaf. This is Leguminosites regularis from the Eocene of Utah. Only a handful of this particular species are found each year. This specimen exhibits very fine detail. The weak venation and long petiole are easily seen. The leaf has excellent color and contrast and is well centered on the squared plate of shale that contains a swarm of mosquitoes of the middle right of the plate (hard to see in photo). This is a very nice example of this rare species of Leguminosites.
