This is a spectacular plant fossil. It is a large Seed Fern from the Permian of Germany. This frond is quite long (over 5 inches) and complete to the very tip. The specimen has been meticulously prepared by hand so that the detail is preserved - it almost appears to be floating on top of the matrix. The central stem is easily seen, and the individual leaflets are beautifully displayed. The fossil plant has outstanding natural color and contrast and is well showcased on the large plate of dense shale. This is an extremely displayable specimen of a Seed Fern from the Permian of Germany.
