Here is a wonderful example of a Acer glabroides (Maple Leaf) from the Oligocene of Montana. This distinct specimen has great detail - the serrated edges and long petiole are easily seen. The fossil has beautiful color and superb contrast - all natural, no added enhancement. The leaf is well centered on the natural matrix plate. This is one of the better examples of this type from this site that we have had. It is a fine display specimen of this classic Maple Leaf.
