EXTINCTIONS CHOICE - Huge Allophylus Leaf
Stock Number  FPUAL22
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Allophylus flexifolia Leaf
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 5.9" including petiole

Here is a beautiful example of an Allophylus flexifolia leaf from the Green River Shale. This large leaf (almost six inches long!) is complete and exhibits fine detail. The undulate margins are intact, and the distinct venation of the leaf is easily seen. The short, stout petiole is firmly attached to the leaf. The fossil has great natural color and superb contrast. The leaf is well centered on the rectangular block of matrix that also contains a small Zelcova leaf. This is a fabulous specimen of an extremely large Allophylus leaf from the Eocene of Utah.
