This is a very large fossil leaf. It is a fine Allophylus flexifolia leaf from the Eocene of Colorado. This leaf has an asymmetrical base and slightly serrated margins. The body of the leaf is easily seen, and the petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The leaf has very good natural color and contrast and is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of shale. There is also a small Mimosites leaf preserved on the upper right corner of the plate. This is a very large and displayable example of an Allophylus leaf from Colorado.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
