Here is a very unusual slice of petrified wood. This is fossilized Black Wood from Nebraska. This specimen was acquired from an old collection. This is a nice section of the trunk or large limb of a fossil tree. This slice has been highly polished to reveal the fine detail of the internal structure of the wood. The fossil also has wonderful natural coloration preserved. The size of the slice along with the unusual location make this a highly collectible specimen of petrified wood.
