This is a very large fossil leaf. It is a massive Allophylus flexifolia leaf from the Eocene of Utah. This leaf has an asymmetrical base and slightly serrated margins. The body of the leaf is easily seen, and the petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The leaf has great natural color and contrast and is wonderfully showcased on the large, natural plate of shale. This is a very collectible example of a large Allophylus leaf from the Green River Formation.
