Here is a very uncommon specimen of an Asterophyllites Frond from the famous Tonganoxie Sandstone of Kansas. This specimen was recently acquired from an old collection. The fossil was collected in the 1970s - we have heard that this site has been closed to collecting for a number of years. The specimen has very good color and contrast. The Asterophyllites displays very fine detail. This is a very detailed specimen of an Asterophyllites Frond from a very unusual location.
