Name:
Allophylus flexifolia
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Leaf is 5'' long including petiole
This is a very nice fossil leaf. It is a large Allophylus flexifolia leaf from the Eocene of Utah. This leaf has an asymmetrical base and slightly serrated margins. The body of the leaf is easily seen, and the long petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The leaf has beautiful natural color and contrast and is well centered on the large plate of shale. This is a very displayable example of an Allophylus leaf from the Green River Formation.
