This is a very nice fossil leaf. It is an excellent Macginitiea wyomingensis, a Sycamore leaf, from the Eocene of Colorado. This leaf has all five lobes wonderfully intact. The distinctly serrated margins are beautifully displayed, and the venation is clearly defined. A long petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The leaf has wonderful dark brown color and incredible natural contrast. The striking fossil leaf is beautifully showcased on the natural plate of shale. This is a very fine fossil Sycamore leaf from Colorado.
