Aesthetically Curved Metasequoia Frond
Stock Number  FPMON06

Name:   Metasequoia occidentalis
Age:  Oligocene
Formation:  Muddy Creek Formation
Location:  Beaverhead County, Montana
Size:  Frond is about 3.15 inches long

Here is a wonderful example of Metasequoia occidentalis, the ''Dawn Rredwood'', from the Oligocene of Montana. The specimen has great color and superb contrast - all natural, no added enhancement. The frond is nicely centered on the natural matrix plate. The fossil is very aesthetic in the way it is curved at the bottom of the frond. This is a beautiful display specimen of this collectible ''living fossil''.
