This is a fabulous fossil cone. It is a gorgeous specimen of Araucaria mirabilis from the Jurassic of Argentina. This fossil cone is quite large and wonderfully inflated. The colorful cone exhibits exquisite detail. A long stem in still intact, which is quite unusual. The individual cone scales are very distinct and easily seen. The back side of the cone also displays beautifully. This is a top quality whole Araucaria cone with long stem attached.
Note: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was collected and exported prior to this law, and can be sold legally.
