Here is a very uncommon grouping of fossil plants from the Jurassic of Australia. On the plate are many fabulous fronds of Otozamites feistmantelli. Although this plant somewhat resembles a fossil fern, it is actually a rare cycad frond. These fronds exhibit fine detail - the individual leaflets are very distinct and easily seen. The gorgeous yellowish-orange coloration of the fossils is totally natural, and the plants contrast beautifully with the purplish-maroon matrix. The the fronds are well presented on the natural block of rock that also has fronds on the back side! This is a striking multiple example of rare Jurassic cycads from ''Down Under''.
