This is a gorgeous example of a fruiting body from a Macginitiea wyomingensis from the Green River Formation of Utah. This ''Sycamore ball'' exhibits outstanding detail and has extraordinary, natural coloration. The dark brown fruit contrasts beautifully with the grayish-tan matrix. The fossil is well centered on the natural-edged plate of shale that also contains a large leaf. This is a beautiful specimen of this unusual fruiting body from the Eocene.
