This is a very unique specimen of Leguminosites lesquereuxiana (Legume) and Populus wilmattae (Poplar) from the Green River Formation. The Leguminosites lesquereuxiana leaf (top) is long and oval-shaped. The unusual venation is very easily seen. Living representatives of this plant are legumes. On the bottom is a fine specimen of Cardiospermum coloradensis. This interesting leaf is quite distinct in appearance. The fossil leaves have great detail and wonderful natural color and contrast. The plants are nicely spaced on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is an extremely rare association of two very unusual leaves from the Eocene.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
