Name:   Celtis mccoshii (Hackberry Leaf)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is 2.5 inches long including petiole

This is a very nice specimen of Celtis mccoshii, a Hackberry leaf, from the Eocene of Utah. The lance-shaped leaf displays excellent venation, and the serrated margins of the leaf are quite distinct. A very thin petiole is attached to the leaf. The hackberry leaf has very nice color and contrast. The fossil is well presented on the rectangular matrix plate that also contains an extremely detailed Zelkova (Keaki Tree) leaf. This is a very fine Hackberry leaf from the Green River Formation.
