Stock Number  FPNDG10
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Ginkgo adiantoides Leaf
Age:  Paleocene
Formation:  Sentinnel Butte Formation
Location:  Almont, North Dakota
Size:  Leaf is 2.5 inches wide

Here is a very nice fossil Ginkgo leaf. This is Ginkgo adiantoides from the Paleocene of North Dakota. This classic fossil leaf is very large and preserves fine detail. The leaf has great form, and the palmate venation of the Ginkgo leaf is wonderfully displayed (difficult to see in photo). This specimen has a long petiole tightly attached to the leaf. The off-white color of the leaf contrasts beautifully with the orange-brown matrix. The leaf is well showcased on the large, natural plate of matrix. This is one of the few complete Ginkgo leaves we have ever had for sale.
