Name:
Aleurites glandulosa Leaf
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Leaf is about 5" long including petiole
Here is a rare beautiful leaf. This is a rare specimen of Aleurites glandulosa from the Green River Formation of Utah. This distinctly tri-lobed leaf is complete with slightly undulating margins - even the very tips of the lobes are intact. A very long petiole is still tightly attached, and the venation of the leaf is clearly defined - under magnification, the venation is very easily seen. The leaf has good color and contrast and is wonderfully centered on the rectangular plate. This is an extremely displayable example of this large, highly uncommon leaf from the Eocene.
