This is an extremely attractive fossil leaf. It is a
large leaf of Populus wilmattae, a poplar, from the Green River Formation of Utah. This heart-shaped leaf has a somewhat rounded base and a long acuminate apex. The venation of the leaf is quite distinct and easily seen. The LONG, complete petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The dark brown fossil has excellent natural color and is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a very displayable specimen of a large Poplar leaf from the Eocene.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
