Aesthetically Curved Metasequoia Frond
Stock Number  FPMME12

Name:   Metasequoia occidentalis
Age:  Oligocene
Formation:  Muddy Creek Formation
Location:  Beaverhead County, Montana
Size:  Frond is approximately 3.5 inches along curve

Here is a wonderful example of a Metasequoia occidentalis, or "Dawn Redwood", frond from the Oligocene of Montana. This specimen has great color and superb contrast - all natural, no added enhancement. The large plant is almost perfectly centered on the natural matrix plate. The frond is very aesthetic in the way it is curled around at the top. This is a beautiful display specimen of this ''living fossil'' from Montana.
