Very Aesthetic Poplar Leaf from Utah
Stock Number  FPUPO16

Name:   Populus wilmattae Leaf
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Leaf is about 3'' long including petiole

This is a very displayable specimen of Populus wilmattae, a Poplar leaf, from the Green River Formation of Utah. This rounded leaf has crenate margins and a long acuminate apex, which is intact on this specimen. The venation of the leaf is beautifully displayed and easily seen with the naked eye. The long petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The fossil has great color and contrast and is almost perfectly centered on the natural plate of shale. This is a very pretty specimen of an extinct Poplar leaf.
