Pair of Unusual Leaves from Utah
Stock Number  F1102042

Name:   Caesalpinites falcata, Quercus cuneatus
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Plate is 3.1" X 4.4"

Here is a very unusual plate of leaves from the Eocene of Utah. There are two leaves on this slab of Green River Shale. The leaf on the left is Caesalpinites falcata, the one on the right is Quercus cuneatus. These leaves have nice detail and shape preserved. Both of these plant fossils have very nice color and contrast wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. They are well positioned on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a fine multiple plate of rare leaves from the Green River Shale.
