This is a gorgeous pair of fossil leaves. These are excellent Zelkova nervosa (Keaki Tree) leaves from the Green River Formation of Utah. These lance-shaped leaves are complete and exhibit wonderful detail. The serrated margins of the leaves are beautifully displayed, and the venation is just spectacular. The short petioles are still tightly attached to the base of the leaves. The fossils have great color and contrast and are well centered on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a striking example of a double Zelkova leaf from the Eocene.
