Plate with Three Unusual Leaves Preserved
Stock Number  FPCXX01

Name:   Allophylus, Sterculia, Mimosites Leaves
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Douglas Pass, Colorado
Size:  Plate is 6.1" X 6.2"

Here is a very displayable plate of fossil leaves from the Eocene of Colorado. There are three leaves (of three different types) on this slab! It is very unusual to find so many different types of leaves on one plate. On the bottom left of the plate is a fine example of Allophylus flexifolia. A highly uncommon Sterculia coloradensis is in the center of the slab. A small specimen of Mimosites coloradensis is positioned above the Sterculia. All three of the leaves are quite distinct and still have their petioles tightly attached - the Sterculia is even partially bug-eaten! The fossils have excellent, natural color and contrast and are nicely positioned on the unbroken, rectangular plate. This is an outstanding association plate of different leaves from the Green River Formation of Colorado.
