Name:
Platanus wyomingensis (Sycamore Leaves)
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Douglas Pass, Colorado
Size: Plate is 4.8" X 8.3"
Here is a very aesthetic plate of fossil leaves from the Eocene of Colorado. There are two nice examples of Platanus wyomingensis leaves on the slab. The long lobes of the sycamore leaves are very distinct, and the venation is easily seen. The leaves have great color and contrast and are well centered on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a very displayable plate of fossil sycamore leaves from the Green River Formation.
