Here is a very uncommon fossil plant from the Jurassic of Australia. A long frond of Otozamites feistmantelli is centered on the slab. Although this plant somewhat resembles a fossil fern, it is actually a rare cycad frond. This frond exhibits fine detail - the individual leaflets are very distinct and easily seen. The gorgeous yellowish-orange coloration of the fossil is totally natural, and the plant contrasts beautifully with the purplish-maroon matrix. This is a striking example of Jurassic cycad leaves from ''Down Under''.
