Here is an excellent specimen of Populus cinnamomoides from the Eocene of Utah. This elongate leaf is complete to the very tip and exhibits very fine detail. The slightly dentate margins are easily seen, and the venation of the leaf is beautifully defined. The long petiole is still intact and attached to the leaf. The fossil has outstanding color and contrast. It is nicely centered on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a great specimen of Populus cinnamomoides from the Green River Formation.
