This is a very displayable fossil seed fern plate from the famous location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The seed ferns are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale. There are several different seed ferns present on the slab. This is a very interesting plate of coal-age plants from a classic site.
