Here is a very unusual fossil plant. This is an excellent full frond of the Jurassic cycad, Otozamites feistmantelli. This is not a fern, but a much rarer cycad frond. The fossil plant has beautiful orange coloration and contrasts well with the natural reddish-maroon matrix - the plate displays beautifully. The frond has very fine detail, and the frondlets are very well articulated to the branch. This is a striking example of this unusual and collectible Cycadophytes.
