This is a beautiful fossil leaf. It is a large Paleocenia robustus from the Paleocene of North Dakota. This specimen has great detail - the petiole and venation are clearly seen. The dark, natural color makes for a striking display. The leaf is well centered on the natural-edged plate of mudstone. This is a collectible fossil leaf from an unususl location in North Dakota.
