EXTINCTIONS CHOICE - Colorado Sycamore
Stock Number  FPCOS01
EXTINCTIONS Choice

Name:   Platanus wyomingensis Leaf (Sycamore)
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Douglas Pass, Colorado
Size:  Leaf is 6.5 inches long

This is a very displayable fossil leaf. It is an extremely large (six and a half inches long including petiole!) Platanus wyomingensis, a Sycamore leaf, from the Eocene of Colorado. This leaf has all five lobes wonderfully intact. The slightly serrated margins are beautifully displayed, and the venation is clearly defined. A long petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The leaf has wonderful dark brown color and incredible natural contrast. The huge fossil leaf is beautifully showcased on the thin, squared plate of shale. This is an outstanding presentation of a large Sycamore leaf from Colorado.
