Four-Petaled Fossil Flower From Utah
Stock Number  FPFLO16

Name:   Fossil Flower
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Bonanza, Utah
Size:  Flower is 0.35 inches across

Due to their delicate nature, flowers are very rare in the fossil record. This is a very distinct specimen of a fossil flower from the Eocene of Utah. This flower is extremely well preserved - the four petals of the flower are easily seen. The flower has excellent color and contrast and is well centered on the plate of shale that also contains what appears to be a partial cattail leaf. This is a fine example of this unusual four-petaled flower from the Green River Formation.
