This is a HUGE plate of fossil Seed Ferns from the classic St. Clair, Pennsylvania locality. It is very hard to get a slab this large from this location. And even more difficult to get a slab of this size that is as nice as this one. The entire slab is covered with many excellent examples of Seed Ferns. Many of the fronds are quite large - several are over 5 inches long! The fossil plants exhibit wonderful detail - the individual leaflets are very distinct. The fossils have outstanding color and contrast. The large size of the plate and the unusual golden coloration of the fossil plants makes for a striking display. This is a gorgeous plate of Coal Age plants that would look great in any collection.
