Unusual Ginkgoites Leaf From Canada
Stock Number  FPCA25

Name:   Ginkgoites cf. hermelini
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Tranquille Shale
Location:  Cache Creek, British Columbia, Canada
Size:  Leaf is 1.7'' long including petiole

This is a very nice specimen of a rare fossil leaf. This is Ginkgoites cf. hermelini from the Tranquille Shale of Canada. This extremely dissected leaf is unusually complete and exhibits superb detail. The dichotomous venation of this uncommon leaf is clearly defined, and the petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The leaf has very good color and contrast and is well positioned on the natural plate of shale. This is an excellent example of this highly uncommon fossil leaf from the Eocene.
