Name:
Acrostichum hesperium
Age: Eocene
Formation: Green River Formation
Location: Bonanza, Utah
Size: Plate is 7.5'' X 10.0''
Here is an extremely rare fossil plant. It is a very good specimen of Acrostichum hesperium from the Green River Formation of Utah. There are many Acrostichum leaves on this slab. It is almost like having a complete salad on a plate of shale. This unusual plant has large, lobed leaves with fine, net-like venation which is nicely displayed on this specimen. The fossil has excellent color and contrast and is well positioned on the somewhat rectangular plate of shale. This is a great specimen of this highly unusual fossil plant from the Eocene.
