Unidentified Plant Bulb
Age: Jurassic
Formation: "Petrified Forest"
Location: Cerro Cuadrado, Patagonia, Argentina
Size: Bulb is 1.5 inches across.
Here is a very unique plant fossil. This is an excellent specimen of an unidentified plant bulb from the Jurassic of Argentina. This is from the same area that they find very beautiful Araucaria cones. However, this plant bulb is much more uncommon. The bulb is extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. It is perched high atop the large, natural block of matrix. This is a very interesting plant fossil that just happens to display beautifully.
