Nice Legume Leaf Centered On Plate
Stock Number  FPCOL10

Name:   Leguminosites lesquereuxi
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River
Location:  Douglas Pass, Colorado
Size:  Leaf is 1.56 inches long.

This is a very pretty specimen of Leguminosites lesquereuxiana from the Green River Formation of Colorado. This type of leaf has slightly undulated margins with very weak venation. This species is unusual in that the leaf has an emarginate or indented apex. This specimen displays all of these features. The short, complete petiole is still attached to the leaf. The dark brown leaf contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. It is beautifully centered on the plate of shale. This is an extremely fine specimen of a fossil legume leaf from Colorado.
