This is an excellent Pararaucaria cone from the Jurassic of Patagonia. This fossil cone is complete and has been replaced by silica. The cone is very 3-dimensional and exhibits superb detail. The individual cone scales are very well defined. The stem attachment point is easily seen. The cone is tightly encased in the natural piece of matrix which also contains a fossil twig. This is a very displayable fossil cone from Argentina.
