This is a beautiful fossil seed fern from the famous Mazon Creek area of Illinois. The plant is preserved in a siderite concretion. Both halves of the concretion (part and counterpart) are present. This specimen exhibits very fine detail. The incredible color and contrast of the fossil is totally natural. No paint or coloring has been added to the specimen. This is a very pretty seed fern preserved in a concretion.
